Eva Lena Keeble, age 95, of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was born April 14, 1927in Pleasant Gap Township, Missouri to George Robert and Amy Cecil Miller Evans.

Eva Lena, one of eleven children, attended one room country schools at Double Branch and Peru graduating from the 8th grade at Tygard Country School west of Butler.  She attended Butler High School graduating in May of 1945.  She started working right after graduating at the Bates County Extension Court House in Butler.  Her time at the Extension Office was from 1945 to 1953.  From 1953 to 1959, she was Deputy County Clerk for Fred J. Hupp, County Clerk Courthouse in Butler.  From 1961 to 1987, she worked for Bates County Agricultural and Stabilization Service (USDA) retiring in 1987 after 26 years of service.

Married to James Rusell Keeble in Kansas City, Missouri at the home of Ethel and Ted Jines and with Nadine (Keeble) and Virgil Fairchild attendants on October 27, 1946.  They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on October 27, 2016. 1996.

Eva Lena was a member of The Community of Christ Church being baptized in August of 1953.  She was ordained as a Deacon in March 1994 of which she served with her husband in church duties.  She enjoyed those duties of the church.  Eva Lena enjoyed gardening and harvesting the produce and canning.  She loved to raise flowers, especially her roses.  Eva Lena enjoyed the outdoors, sewing and made Christmas quilts for her immediate family and friends…and Halloween costumes for her granddaughters.  When her and Russell’s health was good, they enjoyed going to Branson, seeing the shows and helping to take care of their granddaughters. 

Eva Lena is survived by two sons, Mike Keeble and wife Cathy of Leawood, Kansas, Timothy Keeble and wife Joanna of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Kristy Keeble and fiancĂ© George King of Gravois Mills, Missouri; three granddaughters, Cara and husband Mitchell, Katelynn, Jenna and husband Alex; three great-grandchildren, Ford, Gavin and Harrison. Many friends, nephews and nieces.  Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Amy Evans; her husband, James Russell Keeble on February 15, 2017; an infant son, Russell Alan Keeble; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
