Me and My Mustang Flashback 1967

This is the identical Mustang Dad bought Marilyn and Me in 1967. http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/68rainbowofcolors.shtml

This picture was taken in 1999-2000? This car belonged to my new buyer's in Eagle Creek, Chris and Christy Simmons. Chris was Tom Simmons son from Nevada (small world!) Christy Simmon's Grandfather had this original 1967 Mustang and gave it to her for college graduation. I was so excited when I saw this car and the possibility it might have been mine, but it was not; it was a factory manual transmission. My car got sold because Dad could not afford this car for me and a new one for Marilyn that he had ordered from Mr. Fowler. I cried all night when he told me he had to sell my car. I heard him drive it out of our driveway and it was gone. I will never forget that car and the wonderful feeling of driving such a cool car!

Amy, Marty, Flora and Charley's Sepia Goodbye written by Amy

Today was a sad day for our family as we said goodbye to Sepia. I adopted her from Lollipop Farm in Rochester in March of 1995 when I was just twenty-four and she was just six months — she almost made it to her fifteenth birthday on October 8th. My first sighting of her was her tail sticking out from a litter box. Her name was Fluff, and she had lived in the country with a truck-driving family and a dog — clearly not to her liking! Little did I know she would become a fat, long-haired cat, the likes of which I never wanted, and immediately changing my mind about fat, long-haired cats. She has lived in New York, Florida, and Massachusetts … traveled long distances by both car and plane … survived knee surgery AND two kids. She has saved me from many invaders, including bugs, mice, and bats. She kept me company whenever I felt lonely. She loved to lick plastic bags and eat plants … chew magazines and attack toilet paper. She inspired Flora’s first word, “cah,” and Charley’s second, “kit.” But she was best known as the glamorous kitty who turned her nose up at most visitors and saved all her loving for a few special people.

Marilyn with her doll July 1959

Well I guess she got the blonde one and I got the red head one. I had posted this picture earlier in my blog. Marilyn found it and said, "here is a picture of you on Martha and Max's porch" I said "that's not me that's you" and where is the picture of me?? Mystery solved today!

Me-Lovin that new doll!

Today I was looking through Mom and Dad's old pictures that I saved for me and to scan for everyone. I found a picture of Dad in his Chief's car which had been on the front page of The Nevada Daily Mail. It was an article about "high" tech 2 way radio's just installed in the police cars. Well, I picked up the picture to scan and on the back side was this long lost picture of me I have been searching everywhere for!

In our old family album when I was around 14, I had glued the pictures onto the pages (this was good and it was bad) good that we never lost any of our pictures after I glued them in and bad that if anyone wanted a certain picture they would cut it out which damaged the pictue on the next page!

Dad had cut the police picture of him out and framed it, which left 2 pictures from the next page glued to the back of the picture. I am so happy I found this today! This was taken my Martha and Max while visiting Max's apartment in KC. He lived around The Plaza, 30th street? (Bill and I went back and visited the apartments years ago, boy did that bring back happy memories!) I forgot the address?? I will have to ask Bill again and go back to visit. It was a Colonnade apartment with a big front porch. They had taken Marilyn and I to the KC Zoo that day and stopped and bought us the dolls. Having 4 other brother's and sister's we only got dolls and stuff like them at christmas so this was a BIG TREAT! A doll in July! Unheard of when you grew up Brittingham!

Today was Mom's 88th Birthday

Isn't she lovely? I miss you Mom so much! Everyday, everynight without you, I wish I would of said so much more than I did. You were so amazing, you worked so hard to raise us! When you were so afraid in the care center and I just left you that night, I am so sorry. I did not know how much you needed me. I love you Mom!
