ELKO Photo Company Kansas City Mo 1940's

I Googled ELKO Photo Printing and only found this one article with the picture of the little girl that no one knows who it is. I have also attached the photo of Dad and his brother's with Grandma Brittingham taken sometime in the early 1940's with the same border.

Elko Pictures
Elko Photo Co was in Kansas City, MO. These pictures have Elko printed on borders (cut from most to enlarge these). These seem to all be from two rolls. The first two from one and the rest from the other.

Andrew, Mom and Wiley Coyote

This is a cute story!
Andrew told us a story after Mom passed away. Andrew and I visited Mom and Dad a lot and spent the night or a few days. Every morning Mom and Andrew were up at 6:00 A.M.! Mom would start her chores and she would turn the cartoons on for Andrew. Andrew was still little and could not read. The Road Runner Show was all words and sounds, and Mom was usually doing laundry or in the kitchen. Andrew said he would run to get Mom to read the signs but by the time he got her in the living room the sign was gone!

1 Day in July 2007

Why the picture of the interior of my Rodeo? Well, one day in July 2007 I went to visit Mom and Dad in Nevada. Barbara and Robert were in Ireland and I told Barbara I would go down and check on them. Well, as soon as I walked in the door Dad said their bedroom TV quit working so off to Walmart to get a new one. Dad picked out a 36" TV in a huge box. The only way to get the TV in the back of my Rodeo was to put the 3 of us in the front. I had Mom sit on the console between the bucket seats! As little as she was she fit fine and never complained at all, she just laughed about it! Now that I think about that day Mom was almost 86 years old and it probably was not smart for me to ask her to ride this way. I never once thought of them as to old to do anything until they both got sick by the end of the year.

Dad's Security Blanket

While cleaning my closet today I had to rearrange a few of Mom and Dad's things I kept. I ran across the phone number sheet that Dad kept as his security blanket. He had it attached to a old clip board so he could move it from the car to the house. I had programed all the numbers he needed into his cell phone and he could just press one number to call whoever he wanted or needed.

P.S. The Red Sailor Hat

That red sailor hat of Andrew's, Flora now has it.

Papa and Andrew 1988

Every time I open a box of pictures I have stored away I find another wonderful picture! I love this picture of Dad and Andrew!! This was (I think) Christy's graduation? I think Andrew was 4. It is also another one of those Polariod Instant Camera Pictures! Pretty good quality after all these years!
