Dad & Mom's FOREVER Thank You Card

Posted by PicasaWhile helping Andrew yesterday condense his belonging to move to Portland in Oct. Andrew found this card with my name on it along with several birthday and graduation cards from Mom and Dad. Before they got older Mom would sign the card and Dad would spend a lot of time unlining the verse, which in his way meant that he REALLY MEANT IT! Mom also said many
times she thought Dad was left handed? I believe that for he always had such a difficult time writing with his right hand.

He ALWAYS SIGNED HIS CARDS, LOVE FOREVER and he meant it! FOREVER is the word I will always associate with Dad. Even on their head stone we added the word "FOREVER" at the top of the stone over the date they were married.

Most technology savey younger people today do not do cards, which is a shame. They do text messages for special occassions or an email. These are not in a box to cherish nor around when you are all alone and just want to go through the special photos and cards that mean so much in the short life we live.

One of the things that made the passing of both Mom and Dad easier was going through the things they cherished, small things like the cards from us and the Grand Kids. They never stuck these away in a box they were in an album or stacked in their living room. I will never forget on one of their special occassions like a birthday or anniversary, they would set up all the cards on the kitchen table long after the occassion was over.
