Mazie Murry May 10th 1998-June 13 2012
Mazie left this morning for pet heaven She was ready to be free to run and play with all the beloved pets in pet heaven, free from pain and suffering.
Mazie came to Bill, Me and Andrew when Kali, just out of high school chose Mazie to be her companion. With working and being only 18 she was unable to provide Mazie with the care and attention she needed. I brought Mazie to our house the weekend of Jennifer's wedding and told Kali when she was able to care for her she could have her back. Well, the opposite happened, WE GOT ATTACHED TO HER! After a while Kali knew she would be unable to have her back. Maize was our companion and light of our daily life for the next 13 years.
Mazie joined Andrew's cat Crash and they were a team! Many times sleeping side by side and or Crash would "groom" Mazie. They ate and played together until Crash passed away in the summer of 2005. Similar to Mazie's diagnosis of a tumor.
Bill, after telling Andrew many many times that he did not want a dog to be responsible for ended up getting his self attached to Mazie! He SPOILED HER! She was able to lick his face all over and as long as she wanted! She said in the chair with him and watched TV. They ate watermelon, red licorice and went on long walks together.
Mazie moved with Bill and I three times and always settled in just fine. As Mazie got older she was having trouble with her eyes and needed daily medication. Bill would sit Mazie on the kitchen counter and place the eye drops in her eyes. One day he left the house and forgot to put Mazie down! When I heard her wining I wondered what was wrong? I come down stairs to Mazie sitting patiently on the kitchen counter!
For many years Bill would visit his Mother in Odessa on Sundays and Mazie would go also. We just had to say "are you going to Granny's"? and she would get so excited! Bill's Mom taught Mazie to dance just by dangling a doggie treat above her head she would "twirl around on her hind legs! SO CUTE!
Mazie also eat right along with Bill and I, she loved cheese, pizza and ice cream! Mazie was very intelligent and knew words and some sign language such as "hand's up ALL GONE" meaning no more table scrapes! LOL!
Bill's Mom spoiled her something awful! Mazie would have "ANYTHING" she wanted to eat such as Roast Beef and lots and lots of treats!
Nicholas visited Mazie the most times. He would come stay with us in the summer time and most of our pictures of Mazie are with Nicholas. Mazie loved Nicholas, Jennifer, Kali and Andrew. She would get so excited when they walked in the door to visit. Many times Nicholas and I would walk Mazie around the block and when we got close to home I would let her go and say "GO DOG GO"! Mazie would start running home and Nicholas thought this was so funny!
Mazie became terribly ill in the summer of 2005. She would not eat and she slept all the time. We took her to the Vet on Main Street and he diagnosis her with kidney failure and said we should put her to sleep due to no chance of recovery. Bill called me in hysterics! I said let's get a second opinion-I looked in the yellow pages and found Rock Hill Pet Clinic close by. I called Rock Hill and the 1st thing the lady said after I told her our problem she said "what is your baby's name" I knew we had hope!
Bill took Mazie to Rock Hill Pet Clinic immediately and Dr. Stewart told him she had Leptospirosis
She could try antibiotics BUT Mazie was so sick if she did not use the right one first she said Mazie would die. After many weeks of treatment and long late evening conversations between Dr. Stewart and Bill, Mazie recovered! Dr. Stewart gave Mazie 7 more wonderful years!
Mazie, after a short recent illness was diagnosis with a tumor attached to her heart. Since her birthday May 10th she got worse each day. We took her to her favorite Dr. Patrick Stewart at Rockhill Pet Clinic.

It will be difficult for Bill and I to go forward without having Mazie. It will take awhile.
