Mr. Denman Sr.

I work long days and nights when the business is good. I remember Dad talking about Mr. Denman Sr. in Nevada. I think he said he was an accountant. Dad was a police officer in the 50's and early 60's. Mr. Denman Sr. had an office somewhere around the White Grill on the oppisite side of the highway 71.

Dad said back then there was not alarm systems except for the officers that would go after dark every hour on the hour and check the doors and flash their flashlight in the windows of the office to see if all was O.K.

Dad always said he checked on Mr. Denman Sr. who worked long hours into the night. He would see Mr. Denman in his office working, shake the door and make sure it was locked and then flash his light to only see Mr. Denman working on his books like "Scrooge" in the movie.

One night as Dad was checking on Mr. Denman Sr. he said he saw he was slumped over his desk. He had passed away while working and Dad had found him. Mr. Denman's son James, soon became the Owner/President of Citizens State Bank in Nevada. Barbara worked for Mr. Denman Jr. and when Dad left the Police Force to start his own Janitor Business Mr. Denman Jr. was the first to help him get his business started. He was always thankful to Dad that Dad cared enough to check on his father every evening to make sure he was O.K.
